Strategic Partnership a Key to Success
Strategic partnering has been around since the beginning of civilization. The more effective your are at partnering the greater chances of your success. Of the dozen master strategies of success this the most powerful one, but you will not be able to benefit fully from any type of strategic partnership if you do not position yourself. To maximize your success you will have to do two things well.
1. Grow in your own effectiveness
2. Use strategic partnerships
The first thing you could do is recognize that you already have several partnerships in your life right now. The problem is you are probably not utilizing those partners with the adequate strategies. It probably the other way around those partners are using you for their benefit. Here are some of the partners you have that you may have never viewed as your partners.
- Your employer
- Your fellow employees
- Your bank
- Your credit card company
- Your insurance company
- Your mortgage company
- Your landlord
- Your business
- Your business partners
All of these are your potential partners. There are two structures of partnerships.
1. General partnerships – that is the type of partnership where all the partners are equal partners. All partners benefit mutually.
2. Limited partnerships – that is the type of partnership where there is a major partner, which is the general partner, who partners with one or more partners, which are limited partners. The general partner benefits more than the other partners.
The problem is most people are limited partners in most of their endeavors. One of the keys to success is to learn how turn any partnership, general or limited to your best advantage or benefit. There are three ways all humans are limited, in ability, in know how and in resources. None of us have all the ability, none of us have all the know how, and none of us have all the resources that we need to experience real success. In the next three lessons we will show how you could potentially overcome these limitations with partnerships.
